Mission: Cardiopulmonary Services is a team-oriented, customer focused department involved in the testing, educationa, assessment, and therapeutic application of our knowledge and skills to improve the training, care, and overall quality of the physical and emotional life of people with cardiac and pulmonary impairment.
The Cardiopulmonary Services Department provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to inpatients, outpatients and emergency service patients of all ages as prescribed by our medical staff.
Our professional staff works with your physician to improve your level of health and enhance quality of life. Patient education is utilized to help you meet these goals by increasing awareness of prevention.
Full and part-time department staff are credentialed as Certified Respiratory therapy Technicians, Respiratory Therapist, or graduates with pending credentials.
Department equipment is continually updated to meet your needs and provide the most current services.

Asthma Education
The cardiopulmonary staff at EMHS can help your understand your asthma.
Upon request from your physician, the staff can instruct you in the proper use of nebulizers and MDI’s to ensure you receive the maximum benefit from your medications.
We can also teach you how to monitor your peak flows and what actions need to be taken when the numbers fall below your normal range.
